Do I have to make a new parts/class-footer-footer_main.php in my child folder or can I only use function.php to change the footer social-block? I tried several things reading the forums, but couldn’t find anything that actually worked.

I like to credit the original “Designer” and credit myself as the”Developer” even though I substantially changed the code because I still rely on the Customizr theme and its updates so they deserve the credit. Since I couldn’t seem to edit the social-block, I used the advice here: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/child-theme-footer for changing the function.php and it didn’t work.

Is there a way to do it? I don’t want to have to change the parts/class-footer-footer_main.php with updates. I want to keep it as simple and permanent as possible.
