Changing directory and changing URI (3 posts)

RIght now I have a wordpress site installed in my main directory. It looks like public_html/programming. I bought a new domain, so to clean my directories up I would like to move the wordpress site from pubic_html/programming to just /programmingfor.us. How do I go about doing this?

I believe I need to change the path inside the database, but maybe I just need to change the URI inside the Settings tab before I move it. I'm guessing there's a decent amount more to do.

Your domain should point to public_html so if you have wordpress installed in directory inside public_html then you have choices

    or

Thanks. It's a fairly involved process. Does anyone know of a plugin that can do this more easily?

Again, I want to move the WordPress site from public_html/programming to /programming, which ends up being up one directory. Also, I need to change the URL from mathfor.us/programming to programmingfor.us.

    Thanks.
