• I use WordPress as a Content Management System plus a blog.

When I publish an article, it appears at the top of the list of links. However, there are sections of my site where links should be in a certian order/sequence. The only way I know to do so is to change the publication date after the article is published.

Question: are there any reasons why I shouldn’t reorder some articles by changing their publication date?

I do have subscribers via email and rss.

    Thank you.

Where are you talking about? You could just modify the appropriate Template to do that.

    A plugin could do that

Thanks for the info on the plug-in. I’ll tell my web developer about it. I’m a site owner; don’t have the foggiest idea about what goes on behind the scenes. Thank again.

How about a link to your site so we can see exactly what you’re describing?

On the surface, it shouldn’t be a problem for the site itself. However, you’re right that the RSS might have some repeats.

Here you go; this is only one example:

The Canon s90-First impressions should be listed first; other links are out of order.

When I review items, I may write about them over a course of a month or more. I don’t want the first link the be the last.

    What do you think?

    Thanks, gail

So is that the result of changing the publish date? I would simply just do that first to achieve the results you’re looking for.

    Thank you.

I’ll try reordering the links by simply changing the date. There aren’t a huge number of them that need to be changed. Hope it doesn’t mess up anything with Google.

The plug-in mentioned above sounds interesting but it rec’d mixed reviews. A number of times when my web developer adds a new plug-in, something breaks due to a conflict.
