Ok, here we go again. Site drawn2pencils.com I finally got the font color and style set as I want it and am now attempting to make changes to the background color of the varying “block(s)”. I was successful in changing the background of the block for the page “persona behind the name” as can be seen, light brown and yet I have been unsuccessful in changing the navigation bar background from light grey to a slightly darker shade of brown. When I click inspect element for the navigation bar I get “div.social-block.span5 351px x 30px” which I believe is the area which I am attempting to change. But when I scroll down in the css box I find no area that seems to allow the change in color. I have repeatedly attempted to copy and paste the color I wish to change (#754719) but to no avail, any pointers will prevent a serious mental crash & burn.

Sorry, what do you mean, aren’t you using a Child Theme as per your last thread about font colour?

Yes I am using a child theme and google chrome to inspect element which displays the html on the left and css in a seperate box on the right and this has a slide bar which scrolls down the css area of the elements I also have been using a plug-in for making changes to the css. That plug in is Custom css manager.

    Try applying a background to:

    .navbar .navbar-inner

Hey Andrew I finally got there thanks to you, now I just have to experiment to get just the right color.
Would have answered sooner but afternoon Florida thunderstorm required a shut down, I’ve only been using computers for 6 yrs and crashed two systems and lost one to lightning. Hard way to learn but I’m getting better. HA! HA!

Don’t worry about it. We are aware that people have lives outside of their computer 😉 So if you can’t post within the same day or week, it’s very much understandable. The same can be said if we can’t post 🙂
