Changing author from admin to author

    I wrote a post under admin. Now I added a new user with no posts yet and with the role of author and want to change the writer from admin to author. I can’t seem to be able to do that. I can only see authors who already published posts, but not the new user in the dropdown. Is this correct?

    No – I can see Authors (or above) in the Author dropdown using Twenty Eleven – irrespective of whether they have previously published posts or not.

    Then there must be some plugin intervening 🙁 Perhaps the ‘use role editor’ or ‘adminimize’ plugin. Thanks for replying.

    I still haven’t solved this. Even when deactivating all plugins, logged in as admin, I can’t write a new post and then choose an author for that post. I don’t even see them in the dropdown, just ‘admin’. When I open a post previously assigned to author X, I can’t change that post to a anohter author, except ‘admin’. The rest of the authors are not visible in the dropdown.
