Changing a plugin's name in SVN? (4 posts)

    Hey,

I've been developing a plugin called Nice Map, which, in code is called nicemap, but stupidly I chose to call it nice-map when registering the repository on WP.org, so currently the automatically zipped download is called nice-map.zip, and unzips to nice-map, and doesn't quite fly with the way that WordPress loads extensions.

So the question is: can I rename it? Can someone else rename it (pretty please?)

    Thanks for any help!

I had to resubmit to the svn directory for a new addition to the directory when I screwed up my plugin name. The old messed up one is still there but after getting the new one up and running everything is great. Just redid my readme.txt file to point to the proper plugin.

I submitted a support question with no one helping me out so that won't work.

There should be an easier way for people to fix this problem or better documentation on the submit form to keep people from messing this up from the beginning. It would save lots of frustration.

Looks like I'll be doing exactly what you did and resubmit.

It would have been nice to know that the plugin title is used for the installation directory.
