• This could quite possibly be a very stupid question as I am extremely new to WordPress…

All I want to do is change the back ground / font colour of my site. I have been changing these colours in the “Current Theme Options” (My theme is WPFolio)…and even though I press save changes, the changes never take effect on my site. ANd when I refresh the “Current Theme Options” page, the colours go straight back to default.

Is there something in addition to pressing the “save changes” button to make the colour changes take effect on your site?

Sorry If this is a really dumb noob question.

Do you think it might be something to do with my host?

I signed up with JustHost, and after signing up have read numerous accounts of them being a little shady.

Could the changes I am making not be being saved properly in my c panel files or something?

I am just guessing, as I said I am a complete noob and know next to nothing.

Can someone please help me 🙁 ….I have completely run out of ideas for possible solutions.

I posted a response to this earlier and I guess it didn’t work. I don’t think this has to do with the theme as I haven’t seen it before on any of the sites I’ve worked on. Curious what the problem is though…

perhaps it’s a plugin conflict? I would try a different theme with theme options and see if those work.

what was the solution for this? I’m in the same boat.
    Thanks.

as far as we know it only shows up when using Google Chrome. If you notice otherwise, please let us know. We can’t recreate this bug so it’s hard to fix.

It’s confusing. Some changes show up after 30 min and some never show up. I’ve been changing permissions to some files in wp-content and it has helped on some things.
It’s happening not only on chrome but mozilla and explorer.

The delay has to probably do with the cache( not the browser cache). Someone told me to delete it every time I make a change but I can’t find where I can do that.

slambert mentioned above about checking your plugins. I had an issue like this with another theme and disabling WP Super Cache fixed it.

And if you run into the ‘Invalid Value’ error on theme options in Chrome, you can change the options in another browser and they work fine.

Also, are you using WPFolio’s latest release?

Yup. It was supercache. Not a conflict I guess but the regeneration time was set to 3000 or somenting. So I now delete the cache after each update 🙂 Thanks for pointing me to the right direction!

Glad it worked! What setting did you change? I just disabled it but would like to use it 🙂

Hi. Under the advanced tab I just changed the expire time to 300 but it didn’t matter because every time I make a change I go to the Easy tab and delete the cache. The changes show up right away.

    Expiry Time & Garbage Collection
    Expire time: 300 seconds

    Cool, thanks!
