    I created a site at drjeffmarler.com and needed to move it to aspireinterventions.com. I did the wrong thing and switched the WP url to aspireinterventions.com and now have no site and now login access.

    I have followed this advice... http://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL

    edited the wp-config.php
    edited the functions.php

    I haven't tried the other 2, but it said 1 of the first 2 would work.

    What can be done?

    I tried option 3 and it didn't work. http://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL

    As far as I can tell I don't have a multisite, so option 4 isn't for me.

    Getting real nervous.

    Any one of the first 3 methods should work.

    Pretty much, yes. I've used method 2 many times without any problems.

    Just tried #3 again - Nothing.

    Going to try #2. Do I need to have my url + /blog ? Do I really need the /blog?

    No. Not unless you moved WordPress to a sub-folder called blog.

    So this should work..?

    <?php
    update_option('siteurl','http://drjeffmarler.com');
    update_option('home','http://drjeffmarler.com');

    You shouldn't need the opening <?php

    I thought you were changing this site's name to aspireinterventions.com?

    I want to but I thought I needed to go back to drjeffmarler.wp-login.php

    I thought I had to go backwards to get access. Is this not true?

    The WP is built on drjeffmarler.com

    Is aspireinterventions.com pointing to the same site?

    Sorry not sure I understand.

    Aspireinterventions isn't built out. It's just sitting there empty. I don't have a redirect on it.

    Then you need to first point it to your existing WordPress install. In the meantime, the lines you posted above should work.

    I just redirected aspireinterventions to drjeffmarler.

    I get NOT FOUND when I go to aspireinterventions.com/wp-admin

    you have to wait up to 72 hours for domain name changes to propagate fully.

    I'm worried sick about this... What I'm wondering is why I can't go back to drjeffmarler.com. Shouldn't I be able to go back to that site by following the functions & wp-config instructions?

    Read

    I've been in your position once or twice. Using the search and replace script mentioned in the page solved it for me.

    Remember to back-up first though.

    It's not up. So I went asking my hosting for help. (hostmonster)

    There were some other problems we got sorted out + a wp-config error.
