  • FTP to your site and rename or delete the .htaccess. If permalinks were the problem that should bring it back.
Let us know how it goes.

I have replaced the .htaccess with a blank one. I could login to my blog, but found that the permalinks options remained the same. I tried to return the settings to default, but whenever I try to save the changes I am transfered to my host’s page with an error message.
I also can’t access my posts, because they are missing…
Anyway, thanks for the reply. I hope you can help with this, because I have a bunch of stuff to lose.

Check your database for corruption and run a repair on it if necessary. This can be done quite simply using phpmyadmin, just select the database, Check All tables, then, with selected, click repair. Then repeat what samboll said to do and see if it helps.

I’ve repaired all the tables, relaced .htaccess file, and the problem is still in place. I’m considering to start all over with the blog, because all this ordeal is getting very upsetting now. I just really never would have thought that editing this one single thing in wp can mess things up like this. I’ll never do it again.
Thank you very much for trying to help. I guess the problem is with me.
