Change WordPress URL to restore links (4 posts)

Hello - I recently changed my site domain and, following erroneous instructions from Go Daddy support, I changed the following:

WordPress URL: from example.com/blog to example2.com
Site URL: from example.com to example2.com

Now my image links in older blog posts are broken. The urls for the images are: http://example.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/cycling.jpg

I think I need to change the WordPress URL to example2.com/blog but I am concerned about creating a redirect or force re-writing the existing links to something like http://example.com/BLOG/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/cycling.jpg

Could someone please advise me on the best way to handle this? I've been sent in several different directions but nothing I've read seems to address this exact situation.

    Thanks!

Is your site at example2.com or example2.com/blog? The URLs in your posts will not be updated automatically. Do a search and replace in your database to update them.

    See http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress for more details.

The site is at example2.com but the WP is installed in the blog file. I did search and replace and it didn't fix it?

I really think I need to change the WP URL back to example2.com/blog - thoughts? The Go Daddy support guy said that would create an unnecessary re-direct but I just think it breaks my site.

So do you want to access the site at example2.com or example2.com/blog ?

See http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory for instructions on how to keep WP in the blog folder but access it with example2.com
