I set up my site wrong.
I want to have a main site and then have people click on the blog.

When I initially set my site up, I put my blog directly on my main domain name, I didn't know any better.
    http://www.vacation-rental-info.com

    My wordpress url is: http://www.vacation-rental-info.com
    My blog address is: http://www.vacation-rental-info.com

I want to change the blog to sit here:
    http://www.vacation-rental-info.com/blog

Now... I only have a few posts and a few responses and I don't want to lose them.

While I appreciate wordpress I don't want it to completely run my site.

    I've read this post:
    http://wordpress.org/support/topic/160736?replies=7

Is that what I should do?
I've got a dozen or so plug-ins and the site is e-commerce enabled.

    Thanks.
    T

    Thanks.
Step 1: create the new location (new location: http://www.vacation-rental-info.com/blog) got it.
    Step 2: login... got it.
Step 3: go to general panel... got it
Step 4: change URI... got it.
Step 5: change URI... got it.
    Step 6: update... got it.
Step 7 and Step 8: ... got it
Step 9: "Move your WordPress core files to the new location. This includes the files found within the original directory, such as http://example.com/wordpress, and all the sub-directories, to the new location."

I DO NOT GET IT. Here's why I don't get it...

In my file structure I do not see a sub-directory called "wordpress." However, I do see a sub-directory called: "public_html."

    Within the "public_html" folder there are several sub-directories: wp-admin, wp-content and wp-includes.

    So here's question #1...
Once I update the URI do I move the "public_html" and all of it's contents to the new "/blog" directory? Or is it a different sub-directory I have to move?

    .....

    Question #2...
There is another sub-directory on my site called, simply, "www." Within the "www" folder there are several sub-directories: wp-admin, wp-content and wp-includes.

I do not know if I created that sub directory or if it was installed by wordpress. ... If someone could answer that question, that would be helpful.

So, if this "www" sub-directory is mandatory, do I move it's contents to the new "/blog" sub-directory as well?

I apologize for the length of this but I want to be as clear as possible.
    Thanks
    t

public_html is the root of your site.
inside of this folder should be /blog
move the wordpress files from public_html to /blog

the www folder is for redundancy - do not mess with it. everything you do in public_html is mirrored in www
