   Hello, as a newbie with WordPress I would like to know if there is a way of changing the normal index (home) landing page of a theme or template to a landing page which gives the visitor the cahnge to choose a language first and then visit the rest of the blog/website.

   I need this for a restaurant where the visitor first has to choose a language and then will be redirected to a indexpage with that language (created with WPML plugin). If there is a way, please can somebody give me a hint or an explanation. Thank you in advance!!

   Use a page template Page Templates « WordPress Codex for a custom home page and then set it to be used as home in Settings/Reading.

   Thank you Songdogtech for your answer, I'll shall try to do this. I allready thougt this would be the sollution but I was not sure if this would mess up the WordPress structure. I'll give it a try!!

   I've never used WPML, but I guess you could link images of international flags to the diefferent index pages, or javascript dropdown menu that lists them.
