[resolved] Change the color of one row/record (6 posts)

I like to be able to change either the text color or the background color of only one row/record when I use the [pdb_list] code, dependent on the value of one of the fields (e.g. if the value "N" is put in a field "New" then in the list page I like to see that record in red text). How can I do this?

I like this plugin a lot (thanks!) and intend to put it into our webpage in next days where I filter the data per team page. I am, however, applying it out of context: I like to use it for our competition program with matches to come, results and referees program. It has the advantage of editing data at one place and presenting the same at multiple pages. I made an example page where I show several filtering options on the same data: http://www.hvsittardia.nl/?page_id=2163

Obviously, it already works great but I like to know how I can improve [indeed, questions related to my out-of-context use...]:
    - text color if data of a match [e.g. time] has been changed [see previous question]
    - heading color/font [I like it bold face, black in same font as the rest of the table]
    - Is it possible to edit data directly in the admin-table rather than opening a single record input form [or opening the single record input form, but with a "next" button to go to the next record selected]?

    Sjra,

I enjoy hearing about people finding new ways to use the plugin. When it comes to formatting the text, this is a matter of editing your theme stylesheet to get it to display the way to want...there's no settings in the plugin to change that.

Changing the text color according the value of a field is pretty easy to do with Javascript, but you'll be on your own there, I can't really give you the code to do that for your site.

It's not possible to edit the record in the list table, you do have to do it one record at a time. I know it's inefficient to do for a lot of records!

I like your "next record" idea...I will give that some thought.

Thanks for the reply. I changed the heading to bold face [using one of the "archive" topics]. Being form the old "turbo Pascal" times I hoped there would be a loop statement somewhere which fills all the rows in a table. I will try to find a java script to do the job.
A next button would be really great. Still, it is a great plugin!

    Sjra.

Honestly, the easiest thing is to make the change in your theme stylesheet. It's the stylesheet that's making it bold, so that's where the change should go.

Hi, I just want to mention that I have it working now for over a week and very satisfied with the plugin. Doing it the elegant way is just too complex for me, although I would have liked that better. Now I just added an if statement on the font color in the default list template, added a column where I have to put a dot for a red-row, removed the column title (otherwise too wide/visible...) and voila...perfect! You can see an example result here. This weekend there are two red rows of matches with changed time/location data.
