    I want to use nivo slider in the header of my website. It says:

    Place this
    <?php if (function_exists('nivoslider4wp_show')) { nivoslider4wp_show(); } ?> in your templates

    But where in the template? In header.php? So yes, where exactly in header.php? And do i have to remove a piece of the original code in the actual header php. So yes, what piece of code do i have to remove exactly?

    This is my header.php:

    <?php
    /**
     * The Header for our theme.
     *
     * Displays all of the <head> section and everything up till <div id="main">
     *

     * @subpackage Twenty_Eleven
     * @since Twenty Eleven 1.0

    You don't need to remove anything.
    It depends on where you want it to show.

    If you want it in the header then put it inside

    <header id="branding" role="banner">

    <?php if (function_exists('nivoslider4wp_show')) { nivoslider4wp_show(); } ?>

    </header>

    be sure not to add it inside another <?php tag as its already wrapped in its own php tags

    Dear Ronangelo,

    Thank you so much for your clear answer. I followed your suggestion and it works. However, now i have another small problem. I want the slider only on my homepage. I added the following code:

    [ Moderator Note: Please post code or markup snippets between backticks or use the code button. ]

    <?php if ( is_front_page() ) {
    if ( function_exists('nivoslider4wp_show' ) ) { nivoslider4wp_show(); }
    } ?>

    It does'nt work. The slider on he homepage is oke. The photo's in the header of the other websitepages don't show.
    I hope you can help me. (template=twenty-eleven)

    <header id="branding" role="banner">

    I don't understand what you mean exactly. Do you mean that the slider appears on all the pages or it appears only on the homepage but the header image on other pages don't work?
    And why is the code enclosed in <strong> tags. You should use CSS to change the font weight.

    Also, you can simplify the code like this.
    <?php if ( is_front_page() && function_exists('nivoslider4wp_show') ) nivoslider4wp_show(); ?>
    Could you post the url?

    Hello Ronangelo,

    I used strong tags only in this forummessage just for you to easy find where i have put the code in the header.php.

    The url: http://www.dutcharchtopguitarmuseum.nl

    I meant: the slider appears only on the homepage but the header image on other pages don't work?

    Kindly greetings,
    Johan

    Are the header images showing before you put the nivo code?

    Try to move the codes just before the Menu/<nav> like this:

    <?php if ( is_front_page() && function_exists('nivoslider4wp_show') ) nivoslider4wp_show(); ?>
    	<nav id="access" role="navigation">
    		<h3 class="assistive-text"><?php _e( 'Main menu', 'twentyeleven' ); ?></h3>
    		<div class="skip-link"><a href="#content">"><?php _e( 'Skip to primary content', 'twentyeleven' ); ?></a></div>
    		<div class="skip-link"><a href="#secondary">"><?php _e( 'Skip to secondary content', 'twentyeleven' ); ?></a></div>
    		<?php wp_nav_menu( array( 'theme_location' => 'primary' ) ); ?>
    	</nav><!-- #access -->

    </header><!-- #branding -->

    Hello Ronangelo,

    I followed your instructions (see below), but it does not work. See the result at: http://www.dutcharchtopguitarmuseum.nl

    Below the complete header.php. Is it possible for you to put in the right code at the right place and send me back the complete header.php.

    Obviously this is a common problem. I googled around but i found no answer.

    I meant: the slider appears only on the homepage but the header image on other pages don't work?

    Looks like the code was pasted into the wrong place. Can you paste your file's code in PasteBin, then send us a link of that PasteBin'd code?

  9. Please please please use code tags :)

    See the buttons above the reply box? Click on the one that says code. Otherwise your code will get parsed as HTML and no one will be able to read it and help you.

    I tested it and it works just fine. You copied the entire code I posted last time that's why the menu had a duplicate.

    This is the only code you should enter, nothing more.
    <?php if ( is_front_page() && function_exists('nivoslider4wp_show') ) nivoslider4wp_show(); ?>
    Paste the nivo code above this <nav id="access" role="navigation">

    You said the problem is that the header images are not appearing right?
    That's probably because you have it turned off.
    Dashboard -> Appearance -> Header

    And also, as Ipstenu pleads of you, whenever you post codes in this forum use the code tags in the editor.

    Thanks for your answer, but it really does'nt work. I pasted the right code on the right place and the show header illustrations in dashboard, appereance, header is turned on.
