Change “posted by [author]” from plain text to link

Hey everyone,

On my blog, at the top of each post it shows the author of each post in plain text. I want to edit that portion so that it will be a link that will direct the visitor to a page with all the posts from that particular author. How can I go about doing this? I looked at the main page template php file but I couldn’t figure out how to configure the link because the author is a variable. Is there a simple solution or will i need to create a new php file with a table for the authors and their ID numbers?
