Change Post Layout

I am looking for a Plug in, or instructions on how to re-arrange the layout, so that I can completley change the layout of posts.

The cheque layout is fully customizable to accommodate requirements from different banks. User access level has also been added for the printing of cheques. Something like this… Have the date of the post, directly followed on by the Post Title, and then a excerpt about 20-30 words, followed by a link (more..) to go see the full post.

Please Help with instructions or a Plugin to do this automatically.
