You can edit the text sent by clicking "Edit Comment" in the Administration Panel > Manage > Comments

Except most weblogs don't allow me to edit the comments that I send them. So they still end up with the trackback text that looks like crap.

    So I ask again...

Can we revive this? I have the same question. He's referring to the trackbacks/pingbacks his site sends to the target site.

What file / parameter do we need to change to make the pingback a little more worthwile..

Here's one of my recent ones and it looks like it just took the last line of my post which was like 4 words....

(sorta NSFW -- just bikini pix tho)

Coincidentally the pingback below mine on the site above is just as worthless :)

    Thanks!

RE: trackback text, whatever is in the excerpt field is sent as the trackback text (up to a certain amount of characters)

    ok.... duh :)

I never fill in my excerpts -- I thought when an excerpt is required, WP automatically takes the first 150 characters or something from your post?

    Thanks!
