    I would like to change my permalink to add a unique identifier to (possibly) get Google news listed.
    From: /%postname%/ ==> /%postname%-%postid%/

    However I believe if I do so I will all my visits which are almost 100% Google Organic and more than 1000 per day. They will hit the 404 page.

    Am I right in my assumptions about traffic loss?
    Is there any way I can get around this so that business can continue as usual? Since I have 100s of pages it would take a long time to redirect them all or is there a simple workaround?

    Many thanks in advance for all replies.

    Samboll: many thanks for your reply. The plugin looks pretty good and I´ll check it out in detail.

    I also found the following:
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/permalinks-migration-plugin-for-wordpress/

    If anyone has used either and would like to include their observations I´d be real happy to receive them as I´ll probably wait a day or so to get feedback on these as well as check them out myself.

    Once again - thansk for all replies.

    Precession, I have the same issue. I have a page whose permalink I want to change to more acurately reflect what the page has evolved into but I'm worried about losing google traffic.

    I'd be interested to hear your feedback about either of these plugins if you decide to use one....

    Thanks.
