    Hello

I've got a Blog with URL xyz.ch which I run for over 4 years now. Due to some changes I'd like to give it a new name and URL abc.ch. Is there a possibility to transfer the installation to a new domain with the new URL abc.ch and make all (old an new) posts available under abc.ch/2011/05/title and keep the old permalinks xyz.ch/2010/08/oldpost working?

Should it work with .htaccess ?

Thx for the hint ... that explains how to transfer/move a wp-installation. But how can I gurantee that old permalinks will still work?

  3. Read the docs. Keep your permalink setting the same. All you are changing is the domain.

but what I'd like to have is that both the old permalinks work and the newones too

abc.ch/year/month/title point to the same article like xyz.ch/year/month/title

  5. Then you need to do redirection on your old domain to your new one, which is not a WordPress question and highly depends on how you plan to keep the old URL.

You can park the domain on your new site and use .htaccess to parse and redirect, for example.

  6. He can domain forward abc.ch to xyz.ch and that will work without having to host abc.ch with an .htaccess file to redirect to xyz.ch. I've done it before and it works.
