[resolved] Change multisite URLs? (12 posts)

    I have a multisite installation at domain.tld

    My sites are site1.domain.tld, site2.domaint.tld ... siten.domain.tld

Each site is mapped to its own domain, site1.com, site2.com, etc.

My problem is that when I insert images or links (for example) or when comment emails get sent they display the URL as siten.domain.tld rather than siten.com.

Do I have to edit the database to fix this? If so, where?

  2. Which domain mapping plugin are you using?

And what options on that plugin did you select?

WordPress MU Domain Mapping. There aren't any options.

  4. Ah but there are :)

    /wp-admin/network/settings.php?page=dm_admin_page

    Which numbers did you check?

    2, 3 and 4 only.

  6. Try just checking 2.

    Amazing! Thanks!

Can you explain what those options actually mean and whether there will be any side effects?

    Cheers,

  8. My understanding is the other two will make it so your backend is the old subdomain.mydoain.com/WP-admin instead of mapped.com/WP-admin

And when you do that, WP is silly and picks up the wrong image URL when you're uploading and inserting.

The only 'problem' is that your cookies don't pass over from the main domain to the mapped and you have to log in to each site separately.

That's no issue, I had to do that anyway.

I just don't understand why the options are called that - it seems obscure and I had no idea that's what they did...

  10. They're self explanatory for many people. Hard to know where everyone comes from ;)

User domain mapping page - Allows the users to map domain pages on their own (you can leave that checked if you want)

"Redirect administration pages to site's original domain (remote login disabled if this redirect is disabled)" though ... is what it is. Redirects admin pages (wp-admin) to the non-mapped URLs.

Still don't know what number 3 means. What is a "domain page"? Do they mean, site domains?

As for number 4 - it's far from clear that admin pages are related to image/link base domains.

  12. User domain mapping page probably should be 'Allow site admins to map domains to their own sites.'

I agree that it's unclear about the admin pages being related ot images, and I'm not entirely sure if that's a new 'feature' or not due to changes in WP.
