Change home page url (1 post)

I have searched and have been unable to find an answer to this question. If it has already been addressed, I'm very sorry, and will you please direct me to the right place?

I would like to change the url of the homepage button. I'm assuming this should be easier than it seems but I just don't know anything about php and am fairly new with WordPress.

I've installed WordPress into a subdirector called "blog." Let's say my site's url is http://www.mysite.com. The WordPress address (URL) and Blog address (URL) both say http://www.mysite.com/blog.

I want to have the blog to appear as a separate entity from the rest of the site. (I want the main site to have a link to the blog and for the blog to work separately, not powered by WordPress.) Yet, the "home" button on the blog is automatically set to go to http://www.mysite.com. How can I change the "home" button url to go to http://www.mysite.com/blog only?
