Basically I want to make the image on the front page wider by a couple of hundred pixels. I'm using Firebug but I can't find the file that the image properties is located.
Can anyone help? I'm a WordPress beginner.
The width is coded into the HTML tag for the image. Edit your page to change the width.

the image isn't part of the page, it's part of the theme slider.
You should contact WooThemes.

I'd hsve thought someone would be able to help on here. As it's a support forum, I don't think that's being too out there.
You have a premium theme. You can't get free support here for premium themes. You have to contact the theme developer. They have their own support.

All I need to know is where the html is located. Stop being so difficult.
I'm not being difficult. I'm also not about to buy a copy of your theme so I can help you figure it out. I'm telling you where to get the answer to your question.
