    Hi, I'm totally new to managing website and code but need help!

    How to I make my header an image? I have the image in my library. I'm using Twenty Twelve theme. Where do I go to type the code? What code do I type? Thanks.

    You do not need to know coding to add a header image using this theme. In the admin dashboard, go to Appearance>Header

    Sorry, I don't think I was clear. I've added an image, but I want it at the top of the page (above the tagline and menu). I also want to remove the website name, but keep the tagline.

    You need to edit the code in header.php file

    Before you do anything in php files, you need to create a child theme:

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes

    That way your changes won't be lost when WP is updated. It's also important that you have an unchanged copy of the default theme for troubleshooting.
