Change footer color size twenty eleven

Hi all,
I’m having trouble changing footer size and color using child theme.
First managed to make body content transparent(not working on IE for now), after that used digitalraindrops child to change menu (was too lazy to look into css).
But with footer big trouble.
Even copied all footer css part into child and changed all colors but nothing happens, same with size.
Cleared cache, no change.
Don’t understand css and php much so any help is good.
