Change font styling in [description] shortcode

I have tried using Firebug to find the selector to change the text size in the description shortcode. I can’t find it so I can’t change the CSS. All it tells me is “element style” and that selector doesn’t change anything. The type, as it is is way too big for my purposes and I’d like to reduce it to 30px and change it to lowercase. Thanks.
