[resolved] Change Font Size of Page Title (26 posts)

    I am using the Catch Box theme and want to change the font size and color of the page tile that appears at the top of each page. I went to appearance/editing and tried to find where the exact code was to change. I am not seeing results so am thinking I don't know how to change code in a template.

    I am a newby and thank you in advance for the help.

    If you provide a site link we can review the CSS and respond.

    Catch box is a premium theme and is supported by the developer. You should try to contact them directly. I did make an addition to the tags as they also monitor this forum.

    Both of the following styles in style.css of your theme are in use and are affecting the entry title h1

    .page h1, .post h1

    .entry-title

    I would remove .page h1, .post h1

    and then change the font-size px of .entry-title and the color #

    If you need exact instructions let us know.

    Note, prior to editing this file, use FTP or your host provided file manager to backup your stylesheet style.css. If the edit goes bad, you can restore it by re-uploading the unedited copy.

    Admin Dashboard>Appearance>Editor (the default file shown here is style.css, your theme stylesheet)>click mouse at first letter of this file in the editor> hit ctl and f keys together to search quickly for these lines of text making sure to find these exact lines>then:

    Delete this:

    .page h1, .post h1 {
        font-size: 26px;
    }

    Change this:

    .entry-title {
    	clear: both;
    	color: #222;
    	font-size: 26px;
    	font-weight: bold;
    	line-height: 1.5em;
    	padding-bottom: .3em;
    	padding-top: 15px;
    }
    .entry-title,
    .entry-title a {
    	color: #222;
    	text-decoration: none;
    }

    to

    .entry-title {
    	clear: both;
    	color: #ccc;
    	font-size: 18px;
    	font-weight: bold;
    	padding-bottom: 4px;
    	padding-top: 4px;
    }
    .entry-title,
    .entry-title a {
    	text-decoration: none;
    }

    NOTE: this make the title gray (#ccc) and the font-size about half what it was. To use another color see HTML Colors

    Note: These edits will be lost on a theme update so make sure to keep a backup of the file after edit. Consider a child theme if possible.

    I am using a wootheme called simplicity and I am having the same problem @Seacoast I followed your advice but I was stuck in finding where the following codes are:

    .page h1, .post h1 {
    font-size: 26px;
    }

    I wanted to change the font size here http://stratusprosunlimited.com/news/video-message-of-the-week/
    this is the portfolio page, make the title smaller and center it if possible.

    I appreciate any help :) thanks WordPress community.

    @bo4610 - CSS is theme specific, so that's why you can't find the above CSS in your theme. In your case, this is the CSS for the title:

    #title-container h1.title {
        color: #293F4C;
        text-align: center;
        font: 22px/1em 'PT Sans',arial,sans-serif;

    }

    Add the text align center and change the other styles to your liking.

    Beyond that, however, you need to get support from WooThemes as these forums don't support commercial themes.

    @WPyogi thanks for that quick reply however that code is under the
    /* 3. POSTS */
    what I need is the page title font size and I am having a hard-time finding it.

    Ah, okay, if you mean "Hang Out With the Leaders", try this one:

    #portfolio-content h2 {
        font-size: 33px;
        margin-bottom: 10px;
    }

    You'll need to add the styles you want.

    The best way to find these styles is by using a browser tool such as Firebug - immensely helpful.

    Or do you mean the header at the top of the page??

    yes "hangout with the leaders" and make it center
    thanks for helping me.. I think that the code you gave was for the content of the page but not on its title

    The one I just gave you is for the "Hang out with the leaders" - an h2 tag is for a header. You can add any styles you want to that section.

    #portfolio-content h2 {
        font-size: 33px;
        margin-bottom: 10px;
        text-align: center;
        font-family:  ....whatever you want;
    }

    If you need more CSS reference info, this is a good site:

    LOL - you're welcome -- it's "she" BTW :).

    The centering of images can be set when you insert an image or you can click on the image to edit the settings:

    (And you're no dummy - just newer - I have plenty to learn here too. Spending time here is a great way to learn a lot!)

    I am thinking that it maybe somewhere here

    .portfolio-img img {background: #fff;padding:2px;margin-bottom:10px;border:1px solid #DDD;-moz-box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0,

    and all I have to do is add this code

    img.center { display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; }

    but don't know where
