   I need to change the font on the visual editor. The serif font is too hard to see. I need a sans-serif font but can't figure out how to change it.

   You can't change it in the editor. You'll have to change it in your theme's style.css file. Go to Appearance/Editor in your admin panel and select the Stylesheet.
