• I recently installed WordPress on a ubuntu droplet at digital ocean and my wordpress blog is installed in the /var/www/ folder.

I wish to change that folder because I want to have two different sites in that folder.

Is is possible to move the installation to /var/www/wordpress without messing everything up ?

The goal is to have something like /var/www/wordpress (Apache) and something like /var/www/myDjangoApplication (nginx)

I dont have the domain pointing to the installation yet, so I use and installed wordpress using an IP address. I dont know if it change anything…

    Thanks

  • You could move it to a sub-directory: Moving WordPress

Or, if you’ve just gotten started, you could empty your WordPress database tables, put WordPress in the sub-directory and then re-run the installation routine from the new location.
