I'm using wp 3.0.3 multisite. Sites are setup like this:
    http://sub.domain.com/wordpress
    http://sub.domain.com/wordpress/blog1
    http://sub.domain.com/wordpress/blog2

I'm trying to change the url of http://sub.domain.com/wordpress/blog2 to http://other.otherdomain.com

I was able to modify .htaccess so that http://other.otherdomain.com is working but paths are not, i.e. http://other.otherdomain.com/category/inspiration/ is only show the index page.

Another example: http://sub.domain.com/wordpress/blog2/2011/01/01/one-hot-post/ is working; http://other.otherdomain.com/2011/01/01/one-hot-post/ is not.

Should I go the .htaccess way or I'm able to fix this in the settings by editing site options (siteurl and home...)? or domain mapping?

  2. Domain mapping would be the better way but ... I have a feeling it'll keep the 'wordpress' slug in the URL

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into it.

  4. Actually, domain mapping will come up with a warning and say it will not work because you've installed it in the /wordpress/ folder.

Is there some reason you can't install it at domain.com?

    I have a similar issue. I have a site here: http://rowlandwilliams.com/hoft. It is a multi-user site.

I am ready to move it to its own domain, houseoftutors.edu. I have migrated a number of standard sites using Settings. How in the Q$#R%T do I move this multisite?

    Any help would be welcome.

    Thank you.
