Change Default Them / Modify Kubrick CSS (4 posts)

I propose that the default Kubrick theme be updated or replaced.

Overall it is a great starting point but I find that the way the style sheet is organized is problematic.

The idea of separating structure and style seems great but there is not reason to have multiple CSS rules sprinkled throughout the style sheet. I also feel that this form of organization is clearly a personal choice

Either condense and clean up the style sheet for Kubrick or find a theme that is cleaner and more straight forward in its styling. I teach web design and I can't imagine letting first year students spend all their time searching through the Kubrick CSS.

I think there is a new default theme in the pipes-- can't remember the link though.

The link to view the new theme is http://2010dev.wordpress.com/. You can view the code on Trac.

    Thanks cnorris23.

I just used this condenser/sanitizer and it worked pretty well.
The output isn't in the order I would want the rules in but it gets rid of a lot of redundancies. Get me much closer; faster.

    Something to consider. Good luck.
