Change default PHP configuration (4 posts)

I am trying to install a plugin but get a upload_max_filesize error.

Can someone tell me how I can change the PHP configuration, to allow for larger files? I was told it'll probably be set at 2MB which is too low generally these days and to increase it to 8M.

    Thank you!

You need to contact your hosts about this.

That's the only option? Trying to not have to bother them.

If your host uses cPanel, you can look to see if there is an icon that says something like: "php.ini EZConfig"

Enable EZConfig and you should be able to change the upload_max_filesize value.

Like @esmi said though, you should contact your host to at least make sure you won't be exceeding any limitations of your hosting account.
