   Is there a way to set the default option of Allow Comments and Allow Pings to to NO? I am using WordPress for a pages only site and don't want my user to allow comments and pings, which he will do unless he changes it every time.

   Yes it's in the blog settings under discussion.

   Then you should eliminate any references to comments from the Page template(s).

   Moshu, I would like to do this but I am not sure how to.
   (Using the Mandingo theme.)

   You will have to edit your template files...
   Template_Tags
   Template_Tags#Comment_tags
   Stepping_Into_Template_Tags
