• I understand that Cforms support is over at delicious.days, but it’s quite inactive and I have found no information that was clear:

Is it possible to get cforms [12.2] working with multisite?

I have tried both activating it across the network and on each site individually, but what inevitably happens is that I can set up a form on the administrator site, but when I try to set up a form on a subdomain site and go to the cforms main page, it doesn’t list the fields nor does it have the option of adding a field, it’s as if the interface is somehow deactivated.

Has anyone had any luck with this, any advice?

    Regards,
    James

  • Check out Gravity Forms. Cforms is quite a powerful plugin, but as you noted the support isn’t very active and it’s a bit wonky on multisite.

If you don’t need huge forms, you can also try Grunion.

It was working for me when activated on a per site basis. The biggest issue I had was with getting it to reply automatically to the person who set the contact. 😉

Grunion forms works dandy tho. It;s the same one they use on wordpress.com, which also runs multisite.

    +1 for Grunion wherever possible.

Thank you for the tips everyone.

Andrea, did you simply upload the cforms folder to the plugins directory, activate it on each subsite, and it just worked?

Grunion won”t work — what I’m making at the moment is a form to collect purchasing information, billing address, credit card, etc.

I’m having a hard time. Visual Form Builder requires their email field to be filled out, and the card information cannot be transmitted by email — we have an SSL for that. cforms is not working, Gravity Forms is out of budget range; form builder isn’t even built for multisite support… is there really no simple, intuitive plugin for building a simple form to collect billing information onsite that isn’t riddled with difficulties, restriction, or priced upward of a hundred dollars?

It seems so strange — such a simple thing: a single form to use on multiple sites to send data to the database where it is able to be exported without every entry being emailed. Am I delusional and missing the plugin that can do this, or does it not exist? I’ve spent so many hours on this, it’s extremely frustrating.

Thank you for the tips, though. Grunion won’t work, it’s not only a contact form I’m attempting to make.

IMHO, the time spent fighting plugins that don’t work and searching in vain for a free solution very quickly eclipse the cost of a license for something like Gravity Forms. These are not simple plugins and I don’t envy those making and maintaining them. I have no monetary interest in Gravity Forms, but I have to say it’s one of the finest plugins I’ve had the pleasure of using and has saved me untold hours of work.

cForms was amazing, but once it got pulled from the repo, and became tricky to update I saw the writing on the wall.

Good luck and please let us know how it works out.
