Centering Slider and Post Thumb images

I’m new to CSS and I’m looking for some help with the code that I need to input into my child theme so that the images in the slider and post thumbs are centered rather than cropped from the baseline. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I’m ready to rip out my hair! 😉 Thanks!
