Centering Images (15 posts)

I am trying to center my images on wordpress "blackbird" theme but having trouble.

For some reason it just doesn't align. Only stays to the left.

I have tried all the CSS code hacks but still no luck.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Which CSS code have you tried? Just so we don't recommend things you've already tried.

All of those are pretty outdated, so that may be why they don't work.

Are you using the built-in alignment options for inserting images:

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Inserting_Images_into_Posts_and_Pages

See Image Alignment partway down that page.

If that's not working or you're trying to do something else, can you post a link to a page example -- that makes it much easier for people to help.

My Twenty Twelve theme has that same problem, and I work around it by using text mode to remove the embedded centering command and then wrapping the entire entry with a <p style="text-align: center;"> order.

Can you post a link to a page where this is happening? It might be a simple fix or that you can add the missing CSS to your theme.

Are you using Firebug to see what's going on? I just installed Blackbird on a test site and the image alignment worked fine.

Just to check - when you click insert Media -- then get the library screen - when you click on an image -- there's a panel on the right side that has the "attachment display settings" -- with a pulldown for alignment. Is that what you are using?

Also, are you using WP3.5 and the most recent version of blackbird?

yes that is what i am doing and i am using latest version of wp.

I insert image but before i insert into post i select "center".

That doesn't work so then i click "center" on the toolbar in the actual post.

So what does Firebug show for the CSS for that element?

The only other thing I can think of to try is to validate your pages to make sure that you don't have Mark-up or CSS errors that are interfering with it working.

Web developer addon for Firefox -- way useful. Similar to Chrome Developer tools, if you are using that. If not, you're making your life much harder than it needs to be :).
