Support » Fixing WordPress » Centering both text & Image

  • Hi there,

If I insert an image & then type a text in the same line, they’re supposed to be belonging to one paragraph. Therefore, if I select the image or place my cursor in the text & then click “Center”, both should be centered . Right?

But I am not getting this result at all!

After centering the image I can only center the text below it.

esmi, text & image are “centered” – but both should be “in the same line”. Because of the crooked WP editor I am unable to get this simple thing right.

Align the image to the left when inserting it.

    esmi, your suggestion doesn’t work.

But I’ve got it tight! Wondering how?!!!
Before inserting the image, I just set the Alignment to None. That’s it!
Now both the image & text are one paragraph.

But the fact remains that the WP is a “crooked editor” – for reasons which are so obvious (& which has already been commented upon) that I do not want to repeat it here.

esmi, thanks for trying to help, anyway.

The issue is within your theme’s CSS and/or template files – not the WP editor.

Hi Esmi, I couldn’t seem to locate a way to contact you otherwise. I saw you apparently helped a member, Nezmin2, here nearly a year ago on “How To & Troubleshooting” on a question related to the Magazine Basic Template:

I, too, would like to remove the “Uncategorized” listing from appearing on the front page of a blog’s Category widget on the top of its left sidebar. The site is http://www.TheBloggersBulletin.org.

I’ve looked through the Magazine Basic Theme Files several times and cannot seem to deduce what/where I should make the code edits to keep “Uncategorized” from appearing.

(Note: Not trying to get rid of Posts in “Uncategorized” altogether. We have 200+ posts under “Uncategorized” that need reclassification in to the other Categories. Just want to get rid of it displaying “Uncategorized” on the main page Category sidebar)

Thank you for any help, Esmi 🙂 Chris Franklin

Find the id of the Uncategorized category (the default is normally 1, if I remember correctly) and then follow the instructions in http://wordpress.org/support/topic/302423#post-1180998

Finding a post or category id.

This is how the code for the left sidebar currently displays:

and assuming Uncategorized is represented by “1”, is wp_list_bookmarks what you mean by wp-list-categories? Also how would I write the code if wp_list_bookmarks is what you mean?

    Thanks.

    No – I meant wp_list_categories.

Then I can’t find it. Not your fault, but what a time burn.

What do you think I should do, contact the template designer? Last go around it was days before the dude got back to me. Chris

esmi, I think it’d have been wise had you requested BarnacleBob to open a new post for his problems instead of answering him here – and mixing things up.
