Category Links Returning 404 error

    Hi all, I am using wordpress that was installed on hostgator using fantastico. I have created categories for posts and there are posts in each category. If I click on the category titles I get a 404 error. The posts in the categories show up fine.
    Any ideas?

    Two things:

    1. Using only /%postname%/ as your permalink structure can result in strange problems. Unfortunately, a SEO (obviously not WordPress) expert has been recommending that people use this permalink structure.
    2. Reapply your permalinks. Go to your permalinks settings and verify your settings and then click Save Changes even if you haven’t changed anything.
