Category Hierarchy Not Displaying (7 posts)

    Hi,

    Sorry if you've read my previous post about category children. I've narrowed down my problem to the fact that my blog can no longer show category hierarchies.

    The code I'm using:
    <?php wp_list_cats('hierarchical=1'); ?>

    I have tried as many variations of it as possible, putting it in different parts of the page, uninstalling plug-ins and even reinstalling WordPress, but to no avail.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

    "hierarchical=1" is the default, even not using the parameter it should work. More often than not the "not-displaying" issue is coming from the theme's stylesheet: rules forced on nested lists so they don't display with indent.

    Thanks moshu.

    In my case the child categories actually disappear (sorry I wasn't clear). I've tried switching to themes which have working hierarchies in them, but the categories still don't show.

    I'm at a loss as to where to start looking, since I've already reinstalled WP to try to fix it.

    Do you have posts in those "disappearing" categories? By default empty cats don't show up.

    Any plugins that reference categories recently added?

    Nope, I tried removing all the plugins as well.
