    Hi Anthony

    Love your theme :) I'm just playing with it but can't figure out how to show excerpts and featured image linking to post in category pages?

    Thanks for such a great theme :)

    Hi Rob,

    Thanks! If you want your blog to show just a 'teaser' or excerpt, then you need to add a 'More tag' into your post. Have a look at my FAQ page to see how to do that.

    I'm not sure what you mean with the second part of your question. On category pages, the featured image already links to the post. You can see an example on my demo site, for the 'post' category.

    Hi Anthony

    Thanks for your speedy response! Due to the nature of the site (leading images and info before desired excerpt) that's not really what I'm after, so I've altered the category.php to show title, featured image, and manual excerpt.

    Thanks again for such an awesome starter theme, without doubt this is one of the best out there :)

    @ Bobbles, I am trying to figure out how to do exactly what you mentioned. In the category.php code for the theme, I don't see the get_content part I've read about...only a 'content' part. What would I need to add, and where, in order to do what you said you accomplished?

    Thank you!

    Hi Jose

    Apologies if this is sketchy, but just looking over my files... (quark 1.2.4 incidentally)

    Remove line 27 and just add in what you want to show up, e.g. title, thumbnail, manual excerpt. So for example mine is:

    <div class="cat-ex">
    <header class="entry-header">
    <h1 class="entry-title"><a href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>" title="<?php the_title_attribute(); ?>"><?php the_title(); ?></a></h1>
    </header>
    <?php if ( has_post_thumbnail()) : ?>
    <a href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>" title="<?php the_title_attribute(); ?>" >
    <?php the_post_thumbnail('thumbnail', array('class' => 'alignleft')); ?></a>
    <?php endif; ?>
    <?php the_excerpt() ; ?>
    </div>

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks Rob! It helped a lot!

    I actually took 1-2 hours in figuring this thing out and I had something very similar. One thing I noticed is that the link for the title that we created through this is underlined, whereas other titles in archive pages (like in the authors) are not underlined and have a different styling. I guess that's styling. Going to look into it! thanks a lot!

    Tried out your code...very good. I need to learn "divs"...and a lot else.

    With your code it looks a lot like how I want, except titles overlaps into the previous post's information.

    You will need to rectify that in CSS. If you're using Firefox, Firebug will help identify which div classes or ids need attention. If you're using Chrome there is an "inspect element" option that is similar.
