  • Hi everyone!

    I’m using the Alyeska Theme on my WP site and have it all fresh and nearly ready to go live. I just need to get the category description to show up on each category!
    Now I’ve done some research and found the following line of code:
    <?php echo category_description(); ?>
    They tell me to put it in my archive.php file but I’ve been warned to stay away from templates as much as possible….one thing wrong and the site could go (hence I’m a bit of a newb)! If anyone could confirm where to put it in Alyeska, I’ll be a little more confident.
    Below is the coding for my Alyeska.php:

    Many thanks,
    Josh

    That’s a premium theme. You might get a better/quicker response on Themeforest.

    Hi Kurt,

    Funnily enough, they sent me packing as I had not bought the theme. (It was a present!)
    I’m trying to contact the guy who made the theme but to no avail yet. 🙂

    Thanks anyway,

    Josh

    OK. I’ve had that problem when working on customer themes. No support unless you’ve purchased it. You can’t criticize the designer if you haven’t purchased it either. I made a legitimate criticism of a theme and the designer complained to Themeforest and they removed my comment. Whiner designer.

    I looked at the code you posted, but because this theme is coded in a framework style I can’t follow the code without some of the other files. Also, because it’s coded in a framework style there should be a way to get what you want without modifying the template files.

    If you can’t figure it out, you’ll have to get help from the designer or someone who has access to all of the files.

    Thanks Kurt! Will do that.

    Appreciate the help. 🙂
