   i'm using the wp_list_categories() function.
   i dont have a category.php or a single.php so it should pull from index.php.
   when i click on a category the content does not show. if i click on the title permalink it does show.
   does anyone know why this would be?

   If you've verified with the Template Hierarchy article that in fact, a specific Category Template in not causing the problem, might consider that a plugin is causing the problem.

   problem resided in the header with some if, then statements to see if it was a category, ect...
