Rand HOPPEThe category chooser's wonky interface is causing a problem. Because it removes a chosen category from the hierarchy and places it at the top, one blogger I support is choosing the whole hierarchy to maintain the context. It's necessary considering the complex category structure they've developed.
This complex categorization is causing an export and import for migration to a 3.0 multi-site to fail. The complex hierarchy is lost. Extremely frustrating.
Seems to me there's a two-frame solution as far as back-end interface is concerned:
#1 - Selected categories in hierarchical context, with the ability to de-select.
#2 - Complete hierarchy, with ability to select and de-select. Action immediately reflected in #1
Not sure how I'm going to handle this migration, though. Other than re-categorizing after the import.
Any ideas?
