jQuery Categories List Widget
[resolved] Categories won't expand until page refreshes (7 posts)

When you click the expand symbol, the categories do not expand the first time. Instead, it just refreshes the entire page, showing the primary (parent) category. But then if you try it again, they will expand as they are supposed to. I would prefer if the categories would expand the first time the trigger symbol is selected rather than just refresh the page.

Any suggestions? Perhaps something else on my site is conflicting with the plug-in?

    My site is here http://realwaystoearnmoneyonline.com

    Thanks in advance!

I don't know but it's working fine on my browser (Firefox 64bits on Linux), do you still have some issues with the plugin?

Thanks for getting back with me. I am, but I'm using Google Chrome. Good to know that it is working on Firefox!

Khristal, just wanted to let you know that the page refresh is happening in Firefox too (FF17 32-bit on Win7 64).

I'm using the same plugin on a development site I'm working on and that's working fine in Chrome and Firefox on both Windows and Linux, and Safari on Windows and iOS.

I think the problem is something to do with your homepage - the refresh doesn't happen if you try expanding the menu when you start from any other page but Home. Maybe a plugin or widget which only loads on Home is interfering with jQuery or has a clashing ID attribute or something.

Thanks. I removed WP Super Cache & the Bulletproof Security plug-ins I was using because they were causing other issues on my site. Replacing both of those with better plug-ins seems to have also fixed my category widget, strangely enough.

I don't install any other plugins in my site except the three default plugins (Akismet, Hello Dolly, WP Multibyte Patch) and this plugin. but the same problem exists. categories are expanded and all top- and sub-categories are displayed if I select "expand=all"; categories are not expanded and only top categories are displayed if I select "expand=none".

how can I fix this problem.
