I don’t reproduce this strange behavior. Have you other plugins activated? Yes, please post the link. We never know. It may help.

You can see it on http://status301.net/ http://status301.net/nl/ and http://status301.net/fr/ where there is a Categories widget in the footer on the left. You can see the title change to match the language but not the categories themselves. For example the category ‘Other’ which should respectively be ‘Overig’ and ‘Autre’… The same thing I see happening with a Latest Posts widget on another site…

There are many other plugins activated among which Jetpack and WP Super Cache. I’ll try to find a off-hour spot to test without other plugins but since it is a Multisite installation with some plugins running network-wide, I don’t have much room to maneuver.

Will keep you informed of any findings 🙂

It’s really strange… Recent posts always in English, Recent comments always in French, Categories always in Dutch! the loops seems correct. Is there some customization in the theme?

Is there some customization in the theme?

No, it’s a standard Twenty Eleven.

    Recent comments always in French

Funny, had not even noticed that brefore 😉

    Categories always in Dutch!

What?? You are right… Now it’s always in Dutch but I’m sure it was always in English before! This is getting really weird. Feels like some caching thing.

    … And yes, there it is… a caching thing…

After disabling http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/apc/ running in /wp-content/ (it’s not like a regular plugin) the issue is gone.

Bummer, two of my favourite plugins cannot work together 🙁

Could it be that because APC ignores language information, the latest query stored in the Object Cache is mistakenly fed back to Polylang as the language-correct one?
