[resolved] Categories on Menu Bar - Matala Theme (3 posts)

I'm using the Matala theme for my blog and want to be able to put post categories along the top where it has "home" "about me", etc., but I can't figure out how. It seems like the theme only lets me put static pages up there.

I'm able to add post categories to the sidebar widget area, however I can't add them to the top menu bar. Can this be done? If so, how?

    Thanks,

    Try creating a custom menu.

Ok. So I figured it out!! Yayyyy!

I thought I was creating a custom menu but I was leaving the "Theme Location" blank. So to fix it, I set theme location to "Blog" and then added my categories to the "blog" tab on the right side of the screen. Then I saved it and... voila!!! Custom headers! It was just that simple.

This site had good step-by-step instructions and helped me figure it out: http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2011/12/19/custom-menus/
