Categories not showing up on front page (6 posts)

I just up a WordPress 1.2.1 site for my intranet. I've put it in an SSL portion of my site and even been able to hack my way through that (thanks to the WordPress support forums :-) ).
But I do have one small problem...I can't see any of the categories that I created on the front page. I do see the link to the "General" category. I also see which categories that a post has been placed in under the title of the post.
This is nothing more than a annoyance, but I would like to get it fixed so that all of my categories show up.
And while I'm on the categor subject, is there a limit on the number of categories a blog can have?
    Thanks in advance,
    Scatter...

I'm sorry, but this is on a private site. I can't let anyone have access to it.

  4. Could you recreate the problem on a public site?

I'm not the original poster, but I just got WP installed and operating today, and I'm experiencing the same problem. You can check out a prototype of my system at http://www.hcpartnership.org/wordpress/.
Right now, there should be a category, "Contraceptive Security" and a sub-category of it, "Turkey". The parent of Contraceptive Security is "None", but before I deleted the General Category, it was listed under there, and still didn't appear.
Thanks for looking at this, and for any suggstions. I'm really excited to be creating the first blog on my organization's site, and WordPress seems to be the right tool.

Never mind. I discovered that I had to check off the parent category in addition to the child category to make it show up.
