   Hi.

   I have a pulldown list of categories in my sidebar. When I select a category, the category number rather than name displays in the address. However, when I select the category from below my post (where I include what categories the post is in), the category name displays in the address.

   Any ideas on how to make the category name appear when I select the category from the pulldown?

   I'd start with double checking your permalinks.

   The dropdown cat just works like that - without permalinks.

   what if you sort by name rather than ID?

   Moshu says that is simply the side effect of the drop down cats. So ignore my statement regarding permalinks.
