Categories and more tags displayed twice in posts

Hi-

I’m brand new to wordpress and have been trying to determine why, when I create a “featured post”, the categories display above the post and the more link at the bottom on the window appears twice instead of just once.

How do I adjust it so that the only category that appears is the category I’ve assigned to the featured post? And how do I get rid of the extra more link at the bottom? Where do I find the CSS or HTML to resolve this? And what part of the code applies?
