How do you show categories that one has created inside the calendar in a widget??

Hey darylbart. The widget as it stands does not display categories out-of-the-box. We may change that down the road but as it stands, the list widget just shows event date/time/title information. The PRO release does include an advanced list widget that allows you to select the category from which events in the widget are pulled, but doesn't (yet) include the ability to show the category name.
If you want to modify the widget via a template override, though, you may be able to get it working as you want it. Good luck and please let me know if you have other questions on this end.
