Like others, I would love to see an option to display categories. I get what that’s complicated, so two thoughts:

    1. Just add category slugs as additional CSS classes on the list items – this would allow people to style them in a variety of ways (e.g. color coding, adding icons via CSS)
    2. Build some hooks into the plugin so that it could be easily extended by others without modifying the core plugin files.

    Hi Zoe,

Thanks for the feedback and those are some interesting ideas about categories. I’ll take a look and see if we can add the CSS classes for categories. That’s a good idea.

    Thanks,
    Zack

    Hi Zoe,

Adding hooks for the calendar will take some more planning, but I’ve added the categories as class names. I used the slug for each category so you can use them properly in CSS. This change will be part of the next release of the calendar, but you can see a preview of it on my development blog here:

Please take a look and let me know what you think.

Thanks again for the awesome suggestion.

    Best,
    Zack

That looks great, Zack, and I agree that slugs are the right way to go.

Thanks for a great plugin 🙂
